Oscar's Paediatric Brain Tumour Charity
Every year, CaSSoc votes to support a charity in its various fundraising efforts. This year Oscar's Paediatric Brain Tumour Charity has been selected.
Oscar's is a childrens' cancer charity set up in Memory of Oscar Hughes, the son of the founder, who died from a brain tumour age 9. Once he was diagnosed, he used his remaining days fundraising for research into better treatments for children's cancers, so that no one else would ever have to go through what he did. Oscar's PBTC continues this research to this day, to try and counteract the imbalance in other sources of cancer research funding.
